Just one bite of this mouthwatering creamy chicken noodle soup will melt all your troubles away with its comforting flavors of the country.

Whenever my kids smell the flavorful aroma of homemade noodle soup, they all get excited for dinner. Even my teenage stepdaughter says it’s good and enjoys a second helping. And let me tell you, when your teenage stepdaughter tells you a recipe is good, you save that recipe. You enshrine that recipe. Because that is the holy grail for all other recipes to be judged against.
Just joking, kind of.
But really, served with a side of freshly baked bread, this soup is pretty amazing on a cool windy day. Or any day, really. I love to pour some of the leftover soup (if there is any) into my soup thermos and take it into the woods with me when I go hunting. Nothing really warms your bones faster than a hot cup of soup, and the comforting flavors boost your spirits too.

The ingredients are fairly simple. You’ll need to pick up the following at the grocery store:

- Dry Egg Noodles (any variety, per your family’s taste)
- Chicken Broth (homemade works great too)
- Cream of Chicken Soup

Can I Use Homemade Chicken Broth In This Recipe?
Of course you can! It really steps up the recipe and makes it so much richer. I usually opt for the store-bought variety, simply because it’s a time saver. But if you have recently cooked up a whole chicken, save that broth for soup the next day! You won’t regret it! You can even save the yummy bits of chicken from the bones and add them to the soup. It’s a delicious way to be resourceful!
If you have the time, try making some of your own homemade chicken broth and canning it for later. Then you can have the rich flavor of homemade chicken broth anytime. Here’s a recipe that works great from Creative Canning:
